Everyone, Please welcome JTaylor and Wraith.
They're new members of Clan TTG and they are working on a map called "A Clash of Kings"
A Clash of Kings (CoK lol) is a Diplomacy map based around the story of "Game of Thrones".
The map is in Beta stage, it's a very entertaining game. It has a few problems that I'm sure will be changed, but nothing that will stop me from playing again.
Unlike most Diplomacy maps, the game has a minor learning curve (atleast I thought so). It takes awhile to figure out where you are, what the objective is, and who you should ally with, but it's nothing that you can't learn within 1 game.
That makes me very happy ;).
That doesn't mean the game is lacking content! While it could always use more content, the game brings new things to you at a gradual pace. This allows you to actually grasp an idea 1 by 1.
My only problems with this map is the unit costs (or possibly just the bounty gain?)
Either bounty/income needs to be lowered or unit costs need to be raised substantially.
Along with that, I ...

Clan TTG is going to sponsor a Risk Revulsion tournament. If all you do is play Risk all the time on SC2 then this tournament is for you.
It will consist of 8 games. 6 games will be full 12 player games and the winner from each of those games will play in a 6 player game. Then the top 3 from that game will play in the final match. The victor wins the tournament. Nothing is set in stone and this is all up for discussion to fine tune this into a well working risk tournament because if we can get it set up real nice, I would like to do the next fine tuned tournament for a cash prize.
The game's players will be set up randomly with everyone who signs up. Here in this thread. For right now the settings on the games will be --->
45 second
1/4 bounty
no fog
rest default
Sign up with your username.id# and your regular hours of play (to help me determine when these games should take place)

There has been only 7 teams to even try and do their matches only 4 have actually even played their games and the other 3 couldn't even get in contact with their opponents... And I feel a full 48 hours is more than generous amount of time to meet up with your opponent that should only have a max of a 4 hour time zone difference (NA tournament).
The tournament failing due to inactivity of it's players, I don't see it being my fault at all.. I will take the blame for maybe not setting it up good enough, maybe using the emails was a really bad idea.
I'm going to wait for the release of the retail version of SC2 and do a 64 team tournament in hopes that at least 32 teams will participate and I would still be happy with a 50% turn out to give out a prize. Also I will let people sign up with their b.net id's because for other tournaments that seems to work out better.
The first 32 people that signed up were sent an email to confirm they could make the time and dates set, anyone who didn't email me back was replaced by a team in the alternative list even then I'm very sorry that as many people signed up for ...
